I met Nick via Instagram - the way all good relationships start these days. Nick had been using one of our original Bare Bones wallets and contacted me via Instagram telling me how much he loved it (can’t blame him). In using it, he’d come up with some ideas of how we could tell our story in some short videos (cause that’s what Nick does. He’s a filmmaker) ...
Sam and I have known each other for nearly 16 years. I met Sam through my girlfriend, at the time, and things worked out really well with Sam! (not so much with that girlfriend … )
Sam and I have played in bands together, toured Australia, visited innumerable amount of backwater pubs and recently he showed me around the US where he’s been living for the last 2 years ...
One of the great things about running Bare Bones is the creative people that I’ve been able to work with, meet and collaborate with. Some are friends that I’ve roped in to help me cause I know they won’t say “No.” Some are people I’ve met online who were keen to be apart of what I’m doing and others are people that I’ve been lucky enough to get to know cause I’ve paid them for their services and they have to put up with me during that time.
Recently, I was lucky enough to take Bare Bones on a whirlwind tour of a few US cities for photo shoots and fun times - first landing in Nashville, then Chicago and finally NYC.
It’s been a dream of mine to visit New York and it didn’t disappoint. Now, I don’t wanna be ‘that guy’ and start talking about my trip like I’m the first one to ever go overseas. Instead, here are three things I enjoyed most about Brooklyn, where we spent our last days of the trip.
When I hang out with any of my friends, I have no regard for their privacy and help myself to their wallet. I want to see what they are carrying around each day - how much stuff, if it’s needed, and what they could do without.
Friends who have bought the Bare Bones wallet have found ways to shove more and more cards into it. Sometimes it’s unavoidable, I get it. If only there was a way to have that stuff with us … but not have it with us?
